Potential Restriction on Certain GSI Creos/Mr.Hobby Products in Canada

GSI Creos (Mr. Hobby) Selected Products Under Investigation

Dear Canadian Customers

As you might have already heard of, several products made by GSI Creos (Mr. Hobby) are currently under investigation by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) regarding its 2-Butoxyethanol content.  Though no official restriction has been made at the moment, our distributor has taken pre-cautionary measures by temporarily halting sales of these products to stores and await the final outcome to unfold.  Below is the list of items (as of 2025.09.15) , provided by GSI Creos and the distributor, with the level of 2-Butoxyethanol seemingly exceeded the Canadian limit threshold.  In summary - Aqueous line received the hardest hit, while most of the lacquer-based products, and nearly all of the water-based Acrysion products are not affected.
