Introduced in 1969, the Kawasaki 500-SS/Mach III (H1) was developed with the goal of creating the world's fastest motorcycle. The newly developed two-stroke air-cooled three-cylinder engine increased its acceleration power to a tremendous degree, and it was a great success in the North American market.
