Since its debut in October 1991, the FD3S, the third generation RX-7, had evolved and reached the point of perfection as the only rotary sports car in the world. After 11 long years of being loved and driven, the FD3S was to be discontinued in August 2002 due to the new emission regulations. Before the end of production, the final special limited edition RX-7 Spirit R was released in April 2002.
