1/12 Porsche 934 Vaillant w/ Photo-etched Parts (Tamiya Big Car Series 56)
The Porsche 934 is a commercially available racing car developed for international sports car races starting in 1976. The rear end is equipped with a horizontally opposed 6-cylinder 2994cc single turbo engine that delivers a maximum output of 485hp and a maximum torque of 60kg/m. The body is a lightweight type with wings and spoilers for improved aerodynamic performance, and the suspension is also strengthened. Thirty-one of this car were produced, and they recorded an overwhelming victory in various races in the hands of private race teams. The car fielded by Kramer Racing, sponsored by the German air-conditioner manufacturer Vaillant, is painted in an eye-catching cobalt green, and Vaillant's rabbit mascot character was included on the car's markings. It notched three wins in the 1976 DRM (German Sports Car Championship), leading to driver D. Wallek winning the top place of the DRM Division 1 class annual rankings.
Tamiya's model kit features a powerful front bumper spoiler and overfender, with left and right doors, trunk and hood that can be opened and closed after assembly. The horizontally opposed 6-cylinder turbo engine has a high-density finish with various piping and wiring, and the steering wheel is linked to the front wheels by the rack-and-pinion mechanism. Coil springs are used for the front and rear suspensions, and the interior with roll cage is faithfully reproduced. Photo-etched parts are included, and the decals are made by Cartograf; the tires are hollow rubber racing slicks. Order yours today!
