1/20 Porsche 935 Martini (Tamiya Grand Prix Colleciton 70)
Tamiya brings back its 1/20-scale model kit of the Porsche 935 Martini for the first time in 24 years! The Group 5 machine developed for the 1976 Manufacturer World Championship, the Porsche 935 Martini was based on the commercial 930 Turbo; it resulted in a high-performance racing car that has undergone major modifications from the body to the mechanism. Although it is stipulated that the silhouette should be retained, the body has been transformed into a powerful presence with front and rear over fenders, a flat nose, a large rear wing, etc., and has also achieved weight reduction. The 2857cc air-cooled horizontally opposed six-cylinder turbo engine produces 590 horsepower, and the suspension and brakes have both been strengthened. This car won four out of seven races that year, and brought the championship title to Porsche.
This model kit features slick tires made of solid rubber; the antenna on the roof is made of stainless steel. Decals by Cartograf are included; you can choose car number 1 and 3; the white logo mark and red and blue stripes are vividly reproduced. The hood can be removed after completion, and a driver figure is included, with two types of helmet markings available. The engine and the interior have a three-dimensional finish, too.
