1/24 Volvo 240 Turbo 1985 DTM Champion (Platz/Beemax 24027)
From the 1980s to the '90s, the Volvo 240 Turbo developed by Volvo in Sweden played an active part in the touring car race circuit with Group A machines that fired the enthusiasm of motor sports fans around the world. Based on the evolution model, 500 of which were produced in 1983, it was tuned according to Group A regulations. The engine is an in-line four-cylinder OHC2141cc that produces 340 horsepower equipped with a turbocharger. It demonstrated excellent driving performance in combination with a lightweight body of 1,035kg. When it started racing in earnest in 1984, it won the ETCC championship in 1985. That year, Per Stureson, who also participated in the German national championship DTM and won one victory and five podiums, won the driver's title.
This model kit firmly reproduces the boxy styling of the Volvo 240 Turbo, making plain the inspiration for its nickname "the Flying Brick;" its interior is equipped with Spartan Group A specifications, including details like the roll bar and dashboard. The underside of the chassis also has a three-dimensional finish, including the front and rear suspension, exhaust, and floor panel details. Decals are included for the markings on Per Stureson's machine. Order yours today!
